Why does the bride throw the Bouquet?

Hi honeymooner! Today we talk about the traditional bouquet throwing!

You should know that the origins of this custom go back to the distant Istanbul of the fifteenth century, where it is said that the first bride threw her bouquet of orange flowers. In the past, in fact, the bride's bouquet was composed exclusively of flowers of this type, considered a symbol of marriage! The most curious thing, however, is not the type of flowers used but the fact that the launch of the bouquet has replaced the more traditional launch ... of the wedding dress! Not the whole dress, of course, but a bit of it. The brides had to cut a piece of their dress to launch it to a group of unmarried friends: those who had grabbed the precious piece would have received a marriage proposal within the year! Today this tradition is often respected, even if there are those who prefer to give their bouquet to a particular person, or to form many small bundles of flowers to donate to as many friends. There are also those who let their bouquet dry to have it as a souvenir to keep. It is good to know, however, that tradition has it that to be a good omen the bouquet must pass through three different hands: it is no coincidence that the groom gives it to the bride, who in turn must pass it to an unmarried maiden, and here which gave rise to the launch of the bouquet!

And did you choose your bouquet?
